Scorpions

So you're being invaded by scorpions.  it's ok you are not alone in fact here in las Vegas the Arizona bark scorpion is a common occurrence but quite manageable. Here are some Techniques and some advice we here at Diamond Standard provide for our own customers.

Step 1. Clean your yard- scorpions are ambush predators, they like to hide in areas like dead leaves and clutter to surprise their prey. if there is nowhere to hide it makes it that much harder to find food and harder to live.  so let them know they are not welcome

Step 2. inspect your home. scorpions like to live in rocky terrain as well as palm trees and dead wood. if you have any of these in the perimeter of your home this is where we will need to treat heaviest while you're at it knock down any webs as spiders are good prey for scorpions.

Step 3 Protect your perimeter- in order to make it harder for scorpions to enter your home you should apply a perimeter insecticide preferably one that is a repellant all around your home and entry points such as Doors and Windows. (note!: please read the label for proper use and instruction)

Step 4 treat problem areas- going back to the problem areas you found in your inspection your should treat those areas using a granular insecticide. these are dry insecticides that are activated with moisture and last for days after application.

Step 5 seal any cracks or entry points in your home- over time the harsh elements can create cracks in your home that can make it less secure finding them and filling them in can go a long way to preventing unwanted critters.

Step 6-  get on a pest control prevention plan. scorpions will always be around but a reoccurring treatment plan can help you live at ease. you can do these steps  yourself at least every other month or call a pest Control company like us and it'll be our pleasure to take care of the headache.

We hope this was helpful to you living a pest free life! Thank you for taking the time to check us out.
